Mrs. Garrett

                                                   It's Almost Over!
It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over.  In just a few weeks, I will be sending them off to 2nd grade :0(   My how time flies!!

In order to prepare your child for 2nd grade, please be sure to have your child read throughout the summer.  Listen to him/her read to track their fluency.  After reading, have them retell what they read in their words.  Please practice math facts too.  Ask your children to count things (for example: count how many things were purchased at the grocery store).  Ask them to add or subtract numbers.  This will not only keep their skills sharp but prepare them for next year.

Box Tops and Campbells labels
Thank you for all of the box tops and campbell labels that have been sent in.  Please continue to send them in as you see them.  It helps our school tremendously and if our class collects the most, we will win an ice cream party! Yum!

Our class is running low on some important items.  If you are able to donate any of these items, it would be much appreciated.

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Tissues

Please check your child's agenda daily.  This is an excellent way to stay informed about your child's behavioral choices.  If your child receives a "Good Work" stamp, it means he/she made appropriate choices all day.  If there is no stamp, I will write a note explaining the issue.  You can also communicate with me through the agenda, I check it daily upon my student's arrival.
